The following topics will be covered:

  1. The basics of networking
  2. Setting up the infrastructure
  3. Routing traffic between various local and remote networks
  4. Defending your network using Firewalls
  5. Fun with Port forwarding
  6. Bonus Topic: TCP and HTTP Load Balancers
  7. Bonus Topic: Device level Failover

Pre-requisites:

  1. Familiarity with the command line and the bash shell on a Linux based OS.
  2. Familiarity with a text editor.
  3. A laptop with at least 3 GB of RAM, and around 50 GB of free disk space.
  4. Vagrant 1.5.1 and Virtual Box 4.3.10

We need the disk space, Vagrant and VirtualBox, because we're going to make it easier to set up the networks and to persist the changes.
