The virus is spreading…

Yes!!! Get ready for the first  null Bangalore meet. The security phreaks in Bangalore have decided to meet each other face to face. The idea is to have an informal meet with all the members in Bangalore.

Highlights: Free null hacker T-Shirt Giveaway to a randomly selected member present at the meet.

Minutes of the meet: (By Amit)

We had an informal meet of old and new null members this Saturday at
CCD, Indiranagar. My count is of 13 people and everybody was working,
mostly in Infosec field.

Highlights-

1. Three rounds of introductions <smile> as some people could not
arrive on time and those present were kind enough to introduce
themselves again. We had participants from every level of
experience-’just joined’ to ‘been there, done that’.

2. Agenda and place for the next meet which is planned for 08/August.
Simran from Praxeva (Praxeva.com) suggested that his company office
could be utlized for the next meet.

We are back!!!  In the last meet there were a lot of requests for taking sessions on security basics along with technical sessions. We are introducing some basic and light :-) sessions this time. Keep pouring in your ideas/comments guys. Thanks!!

He talked about various ways to get information about people on the internet and how you can perform reverse Image search to find references.

His talk focussed on what tests he performed, what kind of juicy-and-not-so-juicy information he was able to extract. what were the bootle necks etc.

In addition to the talks we had Asst Police Inspector Dr. Sanjay D Tungar with us (Thanks Prashant, for bringing him to the meet). He informed us about the Coptech initiative that is taken by pune police and some Tech companies in Pune and advised us to join and help them with their cause.

As decided in the meet, anyone who is interested in contributing to Coptech please send me an email at (giimale_a_t_gmail.com) (NOT to the mailing list, to avoid unnecessary spam) with the following details and we will forward the request on behalf of null to the Pune police:

Hemanshu talked about the authentication loophole in an ISP(name not disclosed till ISP responds/fixes) Murtuja talked about the details of PPP and PPPoE protocol and how they are used by ISPs. He further discussed on how the default pppoed can be modified to create and pppoe password cracker tool.

.NET Code Inject?ion:

Prashant showed how to inject your own malicious code inside a dll to hijack .NET application function calls.
1. Identify the Library.
2. Disassembling the dll using ILDASM.
3. Calculating the offsets required to inject your own code.
4. Compliling the dll and using NGEN to re-insert the modified dll.
5. Implications.
